Anello Punto colore | GianCarlo Montebello

GianCarlo Montebello (Milan, 1941 – 2020) founded a precious metallurgy workshop in 1967 together with Teresa Pomodoro, serving artists and their creative projects.

Later, under the acronym GEM, he launched his activity as a publisher of artists' jewelry: César, Sonia Delaunay, Piero Dorazio, Lucio Fontana, Hans Richter, Larry Rivers, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jesús Soto, and Alex Katz are just some of the many figures Montebello collaborated with between 1967 and 1978. With these works, he organized and promoted exhibitions across Europe and the Americas, both in private galleries and in museums.

The Punto Colore, whose main characteristic is "mobility", comes fully to life through the choice of the wearer. It is the first ornament conceived (designed and created) by GianCarlo Montebello, foreshadowing one of the most authentic tendencies of his future “production”.
